TIMES TOWER IN MUMBAI CATCHES FIRE; NO CASUALTIES REPORTED

A major fire broke out at fifteen- storied Times Tower
building in Mumbai, on 6th September, Friday. Brihanmumbai Municipality
Corporation (BMC) reported that the fire caught in the Kamala Mill compound of
Lower Parel at around 6:30 a.m. The fire brigade has regarded it as level 2
major fire and has sent nine fire engines and other fire extinguishing vehicles
to the incident spot. However, no casualties have been reported so far.
As per reports, the fire ignited from the electric duct and remained
confined between the third to seven-floor. MNS leader Sandeep Deshpande said, ““Fire
has broken out in the Kamala Mills compound for the third time in five years.
There are no fire audits of the buildings. Illegal construction in on the rise
here and the local MLAs are supporting it”.
